Recent U.S. intelligence reports indicate Israeli spy agencies have eavesdropped on American negotiators involved in a peace deal with Iran, specifically concerning U.S.

positions and strategy. This includes monitoring senior American officials like Steve Witkoff, President Trump’s top negotiator, and Pentagon officials Elbridge A. Colby and Michael P. DiMino IV. While both nations have historically tolerated mutual spying, Israel's increased focus on U.S. stances in Iran talks has crossed a line for some American officials. This heightened concern emerges amidst close U.S.-Israeli military coordination in the ongoing war against Iran, with significant tactical and operational information sharing, yet Israel seeks insights into Mr. Trump’s shifting strategy and stances on the peace talks, as outlined in a Defense Intelligence Agency report.
