Army Cyber Command established a Joint Integrated Fire Cell during Operation Epic Fury, adapting a combined cyber command structure previously utilized by Fleet Cyber Command during Operation Absolute Resolve in Venezuela. Lieutenant General Christopher Eubank highlighted that this integration allows Joint Force Headquarters-Cyber to seamlessly leverage headquarters capacity and surge intelligence support without disrupting existing mission sets.
In previous deployments, US non-kinetic operations disrupted Venezuelan power grids, air defense radars, and communications prior to the capture of NicolΓ‘s Maduro, demonstrating the expanding role of offensive cyber capabilities under new authorities established since 2018. To better support combatant commands, ARCYBER is executing a corps-level reorganization, transitioning from a table of distribution allowances to a standardized table of organization and equipment. This structural overhaul expands cyber protection teams from 20 to 22 while creating deployable command posts, brigades, and battalions optimized for operational warfare.
The integration of Joint Integrated Fire Cells directly into operational commands marks a transition for cyber operations from remote reachback support to organic, tactical fires integration. By structuring Army Cyber Command around a Table of Organization and Equipment framework, the service aligns non-kinetic fires with standard corps-level operational architecture. This shift reduces the friction traditionally caused by split-title authorities between service components and Joint Force Headquarters-Cyber.
Standardising these operational nodes allows corps commanders to synchronise electromagnetic and network attacks directly alongside conventional artillery and tactical aviation strikes. Consequently, the operational tempo of ARCYBER elements is now bound directly to US Central Command targeting cycles rather than reachback approval through US Cyber Command.
