Army plans to phase out drone unit championed by sacked generals

The United States Army plans to phase out the Unmanned Assault Battalion, a specialized airborne infantry unit created within the 173rd Airborne Brigade to integrate lessons on uncrewed aerial systems from the Russia-Ukraine war. Following upcoming tactical exercises at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center in Germany, the Vicenza-based unit will revert to conventional airborne operations.
