An independent United Nations Commission of Inquiry has found that Israeli forces continue to commit genocide against Palestinians by deliberately targeting children in the Gaza Strip. Its Tuesday report states Israeli military operations cause "unprecedented death, injury and trauma" to Palestinian children, identifying this as genocidal intent, even post-October 2025 ceasefire.
Israel's Foreign Ministry decried the findings as "propaganda," with Ambassador Danny Danon calling it a "political blood libel." The report details post-ceasefire conditions, including widespread attacks, blocked humanitarian aid, and systematic attacks on hospitals, causing "multi-layered harm" to children. Eight months after the ceasefire, Israel conducted near-daily airstrikes, killing over 1,000 Palestinians, including over 250 children, per the Palestinian Ministry of Health. Israel has expanded territorial control in Gaza to 70%, using shifting "yellow" and "orange" lines to restrict Palestinians. It also accuses Israel of war crimes in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, citing increased settler violence and military force against children; 236 Palestinian children killed there since October 2023. The commission urged Israel to halt military operations and member states to impose sanctions and halt arms transfers.
