The World's Staggering Wealth Divide

In the run-up to the Davos meeting hosted by the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, observers have pointed out that the success of nationalist populism around the world might be connected to rising inequality.

According to Oxfam, the richest eight people own as much as the whole poorer half of the world’s population.
This chart shows the wealth of the richest people on the planet in 2016 compared to that of the less fortunate.
