This demonstrated Iran's resilience rather than weakness. Strategically, Iran proved its capacity to shut down the Strait of Hormuz, through which a fourth of global seaborne oil passes, and its willingness to absorb punishment. The American public's fatigue with West Asian conflicts, after 35 years, is fundamentally reordering the US-Israel relationship, potentially pushing Israel to rely more on partners like India. A broad international coalition, not more force, is proposed to manage Iran, with India playing an indispensable role due to its unique regional relationships and status as a Global South leader.
