Ukrainian drone units operating from the southern steppe of Ukraine have struck more than 180 Russian vessels and sea-borne targets around Crimea over a three-week period to isolate the peninsula. This expanding maritime campaign utilizes domestically produced FP-1 and FP-2 deep-strike systems to systematically disrupt Moscow's logistics and challenge its naval dominance in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov.
These operations target critical infrastructure, including the Kerch ferry crossing, which has reportedly lost 75 percent of its capacity, and various power substations. In response, Russian forces have intensified strikes against Ukrainian agricultural ports in Odesa and Mykolaiv, killing ten sailors on a Guinea-Bissau-flagged vessel and forcing shipowners to temporarily suspend agricultural export arrivals. As both sides exchange long-range blows, the escalating conflict threatens Ukraine's vital grain exports, which constitute its largest source of foreign currency, while forcing drone teams to constantly relocate to evade Russian counter-battery targeting.
