Chinese commercial artificial intelligence platform MizarVision exposed critical United States military assets during the 2026 Iran war, demonstrating that commercial satellite imagery can now eliminate operational concealment in near-real time. By processing commercially purchased imagery, the platform identified F-22 Raptors at Ovda Air Base and tracked THAAD battery repositioning, directly preceding subsequent Iranian missile strikes.

This rapid intelligence synthesis exploits a vast commercial constellation network, including Planet Labs' 200 SmallSats, bypassing traditional state-controlled classified surveillance architectures. The operational visibility of assets across seven nations, including a geolocated E-3 Sentry serial number 81-0005, highlights a severe governance gap where unilateral American shutter controls fail to restrict foreign entities. This development forces a revision of allied force protection doctrines to assume constant orbital visibility, while international efforts to establish a governance framework for the commercial surveillance commons remain stalled without Beijing's cooperation.
