Ukrainian military forces face an increasingly unsustainable war of attrition against Russia, exposing a critical gap between Washington's strategic rhetoric and actual battlefield realities. Despite billions of dollars in Western military aid, Kyiv lacks the manpower, ammunition, and industrial capacity required to recapture lost territories or defeat entrenched Russian forces.

This operational deficit stems from a fundamental miscalculation by American policymakers regarding Russia's economic resilience and military adaptability. While Moscow has successfully transitioned to a wartime economy, the U.S. defense industrial base remains constrained by peacetime production limits. Consequently, continuing the current policy of open-ended security assistance without a viable diplomatic exit strategy risks the total collapse of the Ukrainian state and the depletion of Western stockpiles. To prevent a catastrophic strategic defeat, Washington must acknowledge these hard limits and pivot toward a negotiated settlement that secures remaining Ukrainian territory and prevents further territorial losses.
