Cybersecurity: Changing the Model

Author Franklin Kramer, Robert Butler

Franklin Kramer and Robert Butler contend that the US’ model of cybersecurity is outdated. Indeed, they contend that Washington’s cybersecurity deficiencies are only going to create greater risks for the country as its adversaries continue to grow more sophisticated and as a new period of great power competition emerges. In response, Kramer and Butler propose a new cybersecurity model, which would involve enhanced involvement from the federal government, improved public-private coordination, increased cooperation with international allies and more.
