Here’s How Much Aid the United States Has Sent Ukraine

Council on Foreign Relations | Will Merrow

U.S. military and financial assistance to Ukraine reached $195 billion in authorized spending as of March 31, 2026, though the lack of new aid legislation since April 2024 has left deliveries running out under the Trump administration. This funding gap has forced Kyiv to rely increasingly on European donors, whose collective contributions now exceed U.S.

totals. Historically, the post-2022 influx of American resources marked the first time a European nation became the top recipient of U.S. foreign aid since the Marshall Plan. While direct support to Ukraine totals $127 billion, much of the remaining funds have bolstered the U.S. defense industrial base by funding defense manufacturing across seventy cities. To sustain defense capabilities, the Trump administration has permitted weapons sales through the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List, funded by NATO allies. Despite these challenges, Ukrainian forces continue to demand advanced interceptor missiles to counter Russian ballistic strikes, even as Kyiv expands its own domestic drone and munitions production.
