These executive essays aim to counter public anxiety, push back against regulatory doom-mongering, and justify aggressive corporate restructuring, even as Meta cuts 10% of its global workforce, or approximately 8,000 jobs.

The philosophical framing masks an escalating commercial and strategic race over foundational model architectures, particularly regarding open-source dissemination versus closed proprietary systems. While Marc Andreessen initiated this trend with his 5,000-word essay in 2023, the International Monetary Fund warns AI could affect nearly 40% of jobs and worsen financial inequality.
