The strike underscored a deepening strategic rift following the fall of President Bashar al-Assad. Relations between the two regional powers fractured after Israel’s campaign in Gaza killed over 70,000 Palestinians, leading Turkey to suspend direct trade and seek an Interpol Red Notice against Benjamin Netanyahu.

In Syria, Ankara actively trains forces under Ahmed al-Sharaa to rebuild a unified state.
