What Trump Can Learn From Israel’s Missile Defense Success

Israel’s layered missile defense architecture achieved a greater than 90 percent interception success rate against Iranian air attacks, safeguarding civilian centers, critical infrastructure, and military facilities. President Donald Trump can adapt this operational model to accelerate the development of America’s proposed Golden Dome homeland air defense network.

Decades of security cooperation and over $6 billion in American financial backing for Iron Dome batteries, interceptor hardware, and Terminal High Altitude Area Defense deployments laid the groundwork for these combat capabilities. To mitigate global supply chain vulnerabilities, future defense initiatives should require full domestic manufacturing of interceptor components within the United States defense industrial base. Such technology integration aims to counter long-range precision strike threats, hypersonic weapons, and drone swarms fielded by China, Russia, and North Korea. Beyond military protection, establishing 100 percent domestic production reinforces national economic resilience, secures vital energy and data infrastructure, and generates thousands of skilled engineering jobs.
